Comparison of Saline Infusion Sonohisterography (SIS) and Histeroscopy Examination in Abnormal Uterine Bleeding

Introduction: Abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB) is from the uterus that longer than usual or occurs at an irregular time, affecting 20% of adolescent age group, and 50% women aged 40-50 years in Indonesia. The causes AUB are pregnancy, anovulatory dysfunction, leiomyoma, endometrial polyps, hyperplasia, carcinoma. This study aims to compare accuracy Saline Infusion Sonohysterography (SIS), hysteroscopy histopathology determining pathological abnormalities with AUB.Material Method: cross sectional diagnostic was conducted General Hospital dr. Kariadi Semarang its network hospitals June 2020. Samples were determined by consecutive sampling, including married women, not pregnant, had no genital infection did present any malignancy. Histopathological examination endometrium gold standard for diagnosis. Research data obtained secondary patient's medical records demographic characteristics, clinical history, pregnancy SIS data, histopathology.Result: There 51 subjects a mean 31.67 ± 5.21 years. most common complaints intermenstrual (37.3%), followed menstrual (21.6%), heavy (13.7%), amenorrhea (5.9%). Sensitivity value ranged 81.5-100% specificity 30.77-100%. Hysteroscopy has sensitivity range 87.5-98% 62.5-100%.Conclusion: could be alternative structural diagnosis if unavailable.
